As is the case with all upgrades, the first thing to do when performing Dell Optiplex GX110 memory upgrades is to turn off the power and unplug the unit from the wall. Also unplug any peripherals attached to the computer. Once the power is off, the cover should be easy to remove by pressing the cover release button(s).

There is a clip on either side of the DIMM slot that must be pressed out. Line up the notch on the RAM module with the ridge on the slot and press the DIMM straight down into the slot. The clips should snap closed. Replace the computer cover and restart the computer.
You will receive an alert letting you know that the computer cover was removed and replaced. You will also be notified that the amount of system memory has changed. When prompted, hit F2. Verify that the new value for "System Memory" is correct, then, under "System Security" reset the "Chassis Intrusion" setting to Enabled."
