Dell Inspiron Memory Upgrades
Dell Inspiron memory upgrades can add more zip to what is already an above average laptop. The Dell Inspiron is unique in its ability to change the colors of its palm rests and casing. It is also unique in that it is extremely easy to upgrade.
Before beginning any Dell Inspiron memory upgrades, turn off the computer and any devices that are connected to it. If it is docked in a docking station, remove it from the dock. After 30 seconds, disconnect all cables from the computer (including the power cable) and remove any PC Cards or plastic PC Card blanks. Lastly, remove any batteries.
Accessing the Module for Dell Inspiron Memory Upgrades
To access the memory module, release the two captive screws on the memory module cover and slide the cover open. There should be two inner tabs that can be spread apart. This will release the module currently installed. The new module will be inserted at a 45-degree angle and then rotated back down until it snaps into place. Once the new module has been inserted, close the memory module cover and reconnect the computer cables.
Whenever installing memory into a laptop computer it is important to either wear an anti-static wristband or to periodically touch an unpainted metal portion of the computers chassis. Failure to do one of those two things allows static electricity to build up which can destroy memory modules and microprocessors. Dell Inspiron memory upgrades could be potentially dangerous for your computer if anti-static precautions are not taken.
